THE FACTS ABOUT SOIL RELEASE: The
initial fact that Polyester is a good stain release product
goes undisputed. And almost all brands in the marketplace
today have an added "soil release" treatment to further
improve this attribute. Further, filament products or those
hybrids that contain filament in the fill direction, will
generally rate higher on most soil release testing than the
all spun products. In a recent independent test conducted by
Intertek Testing, we noted the following results (1=Lowest,
5-Highest) (On Timeless Unfiorms Table Linen Brands):
| Soil Release |

As you can see, Omega, Apex
and Infinity, perform similarly to Signature, a Milliken
product. All are poor at releasing certain lipstick stains,
but on all other categories they rate above average to
excellent.
In summary, those products
that employ a "padded" on soil release method, which applies
the soil release treatment topically rather than applying it
with heat and pressure, tend to lose the ability to release
stains over time since the treatment washes out. Starting
with April 2007 production, Apex by Timeless Uniforms will begin
using Scotchguard™ Stain Protectant as its soil release;
presently we use a highly regarding unbranded soil release.
Bottom Line:
The only real test that matters is how the products perform
in YOUR LAUNDRY. Generally speaking, all of the products on
the market will last a long time; the biggest issues will
continue to be:
a) Soil Release
b) Pilling Resistance
c) Cost/Value
d) Service
